Someone once said that the cigarette is the perfect sculpture. Unlit, it’s a cylinder of pure desire. As it’s consumed, it provides pure satisfaction, and once it’s finished, it immediately becomes trash.
The plastics in this show consist, to their core, of plastic bottles. Each layer is heat shrunk over the last, until the layers of transparent plastic result in opaque convex mirrors.
They bob along the wall. Some are hung above eye level so you don’t have to face yourself while seeing them, others return your reflection back to you.
